CANONS ARE MAKING SNOW, THE SNOW IN THE DEPOT IS READY - VYSOČINA ARÉNA IS GETTING DRESSED IN WHITE

Vysočina Arena has put on a white gown already. Well, this is true at least in the area of the stadium where snowing with artificial snow started on Tuesday. Distribution of snow from the depot to the remaining parts of the track is planned for next week.

Cold Tuesday evening and an outlook for favourable weather in the following days enabled the organizers in Nové Město na Moravě to use the snow cannons for the first time. Mr Vlastimil Jakeš, the Director of Competitions, reported: “We are using artificial snow for the stadium, penalty lap and the area around tubes, which are areas that would be difficult to transport snow to.”

Snowing at other parts of the track is not planned. On these sections, snow from the depot will be used, where insulation layer is being removed today.

“We are only waiting for what the weather will look like. Our original plan had been to start to bring in the snow on Tuesday, but we rather wait for a while. Anyway, we shall start on Friday at the latest,” Jakeš said, referring to the fact that weather forecast indicates a temperature increase for a few days after the weekend.

At this moment, organizers in Nové Město na Moravě have a reserve of 30,000 cubic metres of snow in the depot. Despite hot summer, the snow is in a top condition, and this means that tracks will be prepared ideally when the World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě starts on December 20.
