A total of 86,000 spectators came to the BMW IBU World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě over the past four days. This number shows how exciting and attractive this sport is. Jiří Hamza, the Chief of the organizing committee, feels the same.
“You can really tell that we are doing something right when you get praised from the season leader and in my opinion one of the best biathletes of all times – Johannes Thingnes Bö,“ Hamza quotes the Norwegian star. This is the best invitation to the World Championships 2024, which Nové Město na Moravě will host after 11 years.
“We are planning to expand the Vysočina Arena. The construction of stand D and all the facilities for athletes must be renovated. In those times it is necessary to make these investments. We want to make the venue sustainable for us to also save costs when hosting events. With these rising prices we have to be careful,” Hamza said.
There is no doubt that there will be a great interest for the tickets to the World Championships: “The sale will probably start on April 1,” Hamza informs.
