Norwegian biathletes dominated the opening competition of the BMW IBU World Cup in NMNM. For the sixth time this season, Johannes Thingnes B\u00f6 <\/strong>claimed the victory in the shortest distance. His older brother Tarjei finished second and Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen in third. Michal Kr\u010dm\u00e1\u0159<\/strong> took 13th place, recording the best result of the Czech athletes. There were in total approx. 15 800<\/strong> fans in the stands and alongside the tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 15 000 fans visited the Vyso\u010dina Arena on Thursday<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following today’s win, Johannes Thingnes B\u00f6 has officially claimed the Sprint Discipline Globe. It was pretty much decided ahead of the competition, since his only rival and team mate Sturla Holm Laegreid had to leave Nove Mesto due to illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI really wanted to shoot clean here today. I like the tracks, I like the sound here, I love this place\u201d<\/em>, the winner said after the competition. He also added on the team’s success: \u201cWe were good shooters today, but we ski good as well. As a team, it could not be any better.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michal Kr\u010dm\u00e1\u0159 finished 13th, which was the best result out of the Czech biathletes today. With one miss in prone shooting he stayed 1:46.3 behind the winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
